About The Producers

This is Broadway's biggest hit in many a year: the stage version of Mel Brooks's great 1968 film The Producers. The story concerns washed-up, bankrupt producer Max Bialystock, who with his accountant Leo Bloom hatches a scheme to get rich: they will produce a show so bad that it's guaranteed to close and then abscond with the money. The property they select is called "Springtime for Hitler"; of course the show turns out to be a hit.
